"Because you know me, for five years in a row, I've won favorite pinball podcast over at the TWIPYs. And I've always promoted the show. I've always been excited about the TWIPYs. I've always promoted it as the go-to annual awards for pinball."

Kaneda describes his historical support and promotion of the TWIPYs over five years.

"But I wanna be completely candid right now. I'm not excited about the show at all anymore. Last year's show was a total debacle. I was in the room. It was embarrassing."

"So look, if you're in on one, this is good news. You've waited a year. This is now turning out to be the best bang for the buck in pinball because think about it, you're getting this game and it's got more toys in it."

"But the show itself, I almost feel like boycotting because it's turning into an absolute joke. They need to get Greg and Zach back and it's just that simple."

Kaneda threatens to boycott the TWIPYs, calling it 'an absolute joke' and demanding the return of the original producers.

"Because it was done when Zach and Greg did the TWIPYs. Remember when they did it live in Texas it was the best show ever. [...] So why were they able to do it perfectly? And now you've done the show three times without them and arguably they've been getting worse each year."

Kaneda contrasts the current TWIPYs unfavorably with the previous version run by Zach and Greg, saying it's gotten worse without them.

"And so either you figure out a way to go back and get Zach and Greg on board and mark my words. People are just gonna stop caring about the TWIPYs. People are not gonna travel to TPF for the TWIPYs."

Kaneda threatens that people will stop caring about the TWIPYs unless the original producers return.

"And now we're being told that this year, they are not gonna live stream the awards. That you can't watch it over the internet live and find out who wins each category. [...] There is not a single award show that is pre-recorded."

Kaneda strongly criticizes the TWIPYs decision to not live stream the awards, calling it unprecedented.

"And so I know that they don't want these prices to keep going up because if these prices keep going up, their buyer base is going to shrink. And all of this is happening at the same time when you look at 2022 and how little interest there is in the TWIPYs and the awards show because all of these games for the most part were underwhelming."

"And then when everybody else covers this news, they will never say they heard it first from Cactus Pinball Podcast. [...] It is an election year. The TWIPYs are coming up and I'm going to do this."

"How awesome would that be if we turn the TWIPYs because it basically is an election. We're electing the favorite streamer, the favorite pinball podcast, the favorite designer. How fun would it be if we got something like that going in 2022?"

Kaneda proposes turning the TWIPYs into a live debate format since it's essentially an election for favorite pinball content creators.

"Kaneda is the number one consumer advocate in all of pinball and you know it. And that's why we got the TWIPYs."

Now you can tell why Kaneda deserves all of your $5 a month because I've made this year far more entertaining than these pinball companies have made it [...] these are the games that are really gonna be battling and out at the TWIPYs for like best pinball machine, best design, best this, best that."

"Greg and Zach were the greatest hosts of it. [...] I think they need to hand it back over to the guys who knew how to do it live because the best TWIPYs ever was the one that was live."

"The last TWIPYs was so bad, ladies and gentlemen, that I'm really, really questioning whether or not I even want to be at Texas for it because it was just so bad being in the audience of that show."

"We need to not try to fix something that wasn't really broken. [...] And let's just get back to making it what it used to be."

"The game is not even eligible for a TWIPY because it's been out already for a year. I don't know if the topper is eligible for this year's TWIPY, but Chicago Gaming Company is another company that just can't seem to get the games on the line."

"Most people won't even have a chance to play James Bond by the time the TWIPY voting opens up. I think it's through December because we now know the timeframe for James Bond where it's like the pros are going to be on the line in like November and the LE's are not going on the line until December."
